About

James
Morgart

James Morgart, a New Jersey native, has been captivated by storytelling since childhood, crafting homemade picture books to share with friends and family. While he initially pursued a career in accounting—earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree—his passion for writing never waned. Realizing his true calling lay in both literature and education, he returned to academia to earn three additional degrees: a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate in English.

Now an accomplished educator and writer, Dr. Morgart has taught at multiple colleges and has published both creative fiction and scholarly work, earning recognition for his contributions in both fields. His latest book, The Haunted States of America: Gothic Regionalism in Post-war American Fiction, was published by the University of Wales Press and is distributed in the United States by the University of Chicago Press. He is currently working on a novel, several short stories, and a book-length study of Stephen King’s fiction.
